Motivational Sessions

Empowering Students

The primary purpose of conducting theatre/motivational workshops in KPK & Hazara communities was to boost confidence and sensitize students the genre of social theatre and encourage interested youth to come forward and adopt theatre professionally to pursue the motive of sensitize through performing arts. The two areas, Hazara and Peshawar, are specifically chosen to conduct these sessions as compared to other parts of the country these areas are yet to be exposed to the art of theatre fully.

    About Sessions

    The primary purpose of conducting theatre/motivational workshops in KPK & Hazara communities was to boost confidence and sensitize students the genre of social theatre and encourage interested youth to come forward and adopt theatre professionally to pursue the motive of sensitize through performing arts. The two areas, Hazara and Peshawar, are specifically chosen to conduct these sessions as compared to other parts of the country these areas are yet to be exposed to the art of theatre fully.

    Session Insights

    Project was based on seven theatre/motivational workshops. Out of seven, five workshops was conducted at different Universities/Colleges in Peshawar city and the remaining two was conducted in the Universities/Colleges of Hazara. Each workshop was three hours long and conducted in different universities and colleges/high schools across both cities. The total direct beneficiaries of the workshops was 350 (50*7=350) students who participated in the workshops. Both city tours were designed in a way that the workshops in each city was conducted and potential talent was chosen who then participated in the rehearsal for the theatre performances with the Thespianz crew and perform with us in the theatre performances. Thespianz selected and trained at least 20 potential talent from Peshawar and 10 from Hazara as a result of these workshops who got an opportunity to trained and perform with Thespianz professional theatre team and received the necessary training and exposure to kick off their own theatre careers. These workshops helped them to improve their public speaking, confidence building to present their self in front of anyone hassle freely. The idea behind identify and train this talent is to promote the art of theatre in these areas and provide a conducive environment in which these youth with the required training will take the much needed leap of faith and get on the journey of creativity.

    Significance:

    These sessions put an energy inside me and force me to be encouraged and confident while talking to anyone.

    I never new that I can talk and perform in front of my friends. Thespianz motivational sessions provided me this opportunity and encouraged me a lot.

    I had this shyness problem from my childhood but the way sir Faisal Malik and Nouman Mehmood had me in the setting of theatre workshop was marvelous to break my ice and motivate me to speak up.

    Trainers Profiles

    The 15 days long performance tour of team Thespianz took 14 theatre artists including writer director and set designer to KPK specifically Peshawar and Hazara Division for spreading Peace, Love, Respect, Harmony, Interfaith and Women empowerment through 7 Theater workshops and 7 theatre performances in various universities and colleges in Peshawar and Abottabad.

    Faisal Malik

    He Malik is a Musical Theatre Director, writer and arts manager, creator, founding Artistic Director of Thespianz Theatre and founding President of Thespianz Foundation. With a 24 years long cultural experience and education in Arts Management and Cultural Administration, he worked in various countries; he has directed 109 theatre plays, 71 dance performances and 412 workshops for teaching art and cultural performance.

    Nouman Mehmood

    Nouman Mehmood is a Pakistani theatre artist and theatre playwright. He has been to America and Europe to gain theatrical exposure; He has written more than ten social theatre plays for highlighted blazing social issues in the country through indirect and comical manner. He also wrote five string puppetry plays on various social issues to address social issues among the young audience. He facilitated more than 200 theatre/motivational workshops for more than 4,343 students of all ages.
